Job description

Job Title: Manager, Sensory & Consumer Science

Posting Start Date: 6/22/26

The Manager, Sensory & Consumer Science will develop and execute sensory testing methodologies for flavors, taste modulation solutions, and functional ingredients across food and beverage categories. This role will conduct sensory evaluations, analyze data using statistical software, provide actionable insights, and guide internal teams on sensory best practices. The position will also support customer presentations and sensory training initiatives.

The role will work closely with the global sensory team to implement regional standards and communicate global updates. Responsibilities include managing and training sensory panels, supporting sensory capability growth, and delivering lexicon training to R&D teams, panelists, and customers to ensure alignment with global sensory standards.

Your Responsibilities
  • Support the R&D team with the implementation of a formal sensory science competence in the U.S.
  • Conduct sensory testing across all NPI platforms, inclusive of taste modulation, flavor development and flavor applications; this includes strong competency in different Affective, Discrimination, and Descriptive sensory test methods and the ability to analyze, interpret, and report data using statistical software.
  • Identifying and applying the correct test methods to meet project brief needs and supporting the internal teams as a sensory partner throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Managing the sensory panels and supporting training efforts as needed.

Your Profile
  • B.S. in Food Science or similar
  • 3- 5 years of professional experience in Sensory and panelist training
  • 1-2 years managing sensory projects from beginning to end
  • Previous experience with Compusense, Fizz, Mentimeter, XLStat or other sensory and statistical software
