The Medically Associated Science and Technology (MAST) Program uses basic science, translational and clinical research to better understand the gut Microbiome and its role in human health and disease. Using the bench-to-bedside approach, MAST continues to generate important discoveries and improvements in diagnosing and treating Microbiome-based disorders, including gastrointestinal and metabolic diseases.

About the Role

As a Research Lab Assistant I, you will perform lab cleaning and maintenance duties including washing and sterilizing glassware, operates autoclaves and other specialized equipment, using special detergents or other cleaning agents. Incumbent will assist with ordering and the maintenance of cleaning supplies inventory. Performs other lab cleaning and maintenance as required. May participate in research studies and perform basic lab techniques under guidance of the PI.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in maintaining laboratory and laboratory equipment record keeping.
  • May assist with the feeding and maintenance of lab vivarium activities.
  • May perform basic administrative duties in laboratory or following the research project guidelines.
