Job Summary

The Dr. Christopher Loewen Laboratory, in the Department of Cellular and Physiological

Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, at the University of British Columbia will be looking to hire a

Laboratory Assistant to join the team.


Organizational Status

The Laboratory Assistant will report directly to the Principal Investigator, Dr. Loewen.


Work Performed

Cleans and sterilizes glassware.

Performs laboratory clean up tasks.

Assists in stocking supplies and updating inventory.

Assists in routine sorting of samples.

Prepares media and other simple preparation tasks.

Assist senior laboratory members and PI with simple research support activities as needed.

Attend regular lab meetings.

Carries out any other related duties as required in keeping with the qualifications and requirements of positions in this classification.

Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

records of experiments/data analysis.
