What You'll Do:

Responsibilities of the Investigator Assistant include but are not limited to:

  • Work a full-time variable schedule.
  • Work as a team player to assist the team in completing its goals and objectives.
  • Receive training in and learn investigative procedures and techniques and laws and rules applicable to investigations handled by the Ohio Lottery Commission.
  • Supplement investigative work being done by Racino Investigators and Traditional Lottery Investigators.
  • Learn and assist in basic racino operations and basic racino investigative functions.
  • Learn and assist in basic traditional investigative functions.
  • Research records, reports, and documents.  Gather documents and evidence.  Compile information and prepare written reports.
  • Work with the public, jackpot winners, patrons, and retailers on a daily basis and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Monitor video surveillance of Ohio Lottery Commission facilities statewide and fulfill requests for video footage.
  • Conduct fingerprinting for Lottery retailers.
  • Escort visitors and others inside Lottery offices.
  • Conduct mission-critical live drawings for mid-day and evening Ohio Lottery game drawings.
  • Certify drawings, monitor and record security seals, verify that drawing equipment runs correctly and conduct pre-testing prior to live drawings, verify pool closings, ensure that drawings properly commence at official draw times, record and enter draw activity data in system, record and distribute official drawing numbers, secure drawing equipment, and report non-routine drawing events to management and assist in corrective action.
  • Learn to use Lottery-specific software applications for daily job responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties and work on special projects.

WORK SCHEDULE: FULL-TIME VARIABLE AS SCHEDULED SUNDAY-SATURDAY

Three Investigator Assistant positions are available with this requisition, candidates who apply will be considered for the three positions.

12 months experience as investigator/inspector (e.g., law enforcement officer, insurance investigator); valid driver's license. 
-Or 18 months training or 18 months experience in receipt, research & resolution of public complaints involving possible violations of company/agency policies & procedures or state/federal laws & rules; valid driver's license. 
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
