A Day in the Life

The Environmental Engineer position serves as a Project Manager or Task Manager for environmental projects related to engineering, water quality, stormwater management, and/or groundwater and soil assessment and remediation. The qualified applicant will be able to work within a team environment and be capable of managing others to complete tasks or projects. Prior experience with petroleum site assessment and remediation is desired.

The compensation range for this role is $85,000 to $130,000, commensurate with experience and skills. This position is located in Tampa, FL.

To thrive in this role, you'll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Works effectively, both independently and in a team setting

  • Conducts field work at client sites to collect groundwater and soil data

  • Leads data collection efforts and research of projects as requested by project managers

  • Prepares environmental compliance documents, permits, plans, and procedures

  • Knowledgeable of regulatory standards in environmental technical areas

  • Interacts with customers and clients

  • Maintains confidentiality at all times

  • Exercises safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs

  • Participates in the company's continuous improvement programs and provides support to team efforts

  • Keeps up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Your Expertise and Skills

These requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering (preferably civil, environmental, or chemical) or related technical field from an accredited four-year college or university

  • Currently have an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure with multiple deadlines

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Working knowledge of business software (Microsoft Office, Outlook)

  • 4-10 years of environmental engineering experience with industrial, municipal, state, and federal clientele.Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Petroleum Restoration Program experience preferred.

  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER preferred

  • Travel up to 5% of the time
