Description
Looking for bright, mechanically inclined person interested in starting a career with our fast growing company that designs, develops and manufactures the next generation of beverage and food equipment flow control valves, dispensing equipment and customized solutions for the food and beverage marketplace. This position has potential for promotion and career advancement within the R&D team as well as throughout all of Newton and Middleby operations.
The R&D Production Assistant will work closely with the R&D team in the production of valves, end of line testing, and set up of testing of product concepts and redesign of existing products. This position will mainly focus on the assembly of current products for customer orders and light assembly of prototype products. Requirements of this position include completing testing of existing and prototype designs. Testing includes the creation and set up of new test stands as well as modifications with existing test stands. In addition, the R&D Production Assistant will need to analyze tests and communicate effectively to R&D and Sales team the functions of design and test results.
Requirements
  • Assembly of valve and production equipment as well as assembly of the testing equipment.
  • Production end of line testing with data collection and recording of data for reporting to the engineer and sales teams.
  • Set up usage of digital timers, scales and/or gauges to test valves for the following: flow rate, pressure, and beverage ratio.
  • Record the pressure, flow rate data and valve performance into excel
  • Preform analysis of valve testing data.
  • Compile testing results and analysis of the tests for discussion with the engineer and sales teams.
  • Use of working knowledge of the CFV value to provide feedback to the team on improvements to the CFV value in the product's function.
  • Work with the team of engineers and sales to perform quality control of parts.
  • Take a lead in managing inventory count and communicating status of inventory to the engineering team.
  • Expedite the packaging of prototype products for customers and prepare for shipping.
  • Organize and be the point of contact for the daily receivables delivered to the warehouse.
  • Maintain a clean workspace and participate in cleaning the testing lab and testing workspaces.

This position requires the ability to lift inventory boxes up to 50 lbs, assembly of parts and test stands using various tools including power tools on a daily basis.
