Fiber Optic Splicer

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Splicer to perform straightforward, high‑quality fiber splicing work. This role focuses exclusively on splicing, closing out terminal boxes, and completing required quality checks. You will join pre‑built fiber routes, splice at designated terminals, verify light levels, and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
This position may involve pulling fiber, minor construction labor, or conduit work.
Responsibilities

  • Splice fiber at assigned terminals using a fusion splicer
  • Complete all required terminal box close‑outs
  • Perform quality checks, including verifying acceptable light levels
  • Build and seal FOSC (Fiber Optic Splice Enclosures) when needed
  • Read and follow splice plans, maps, and basic blueprints
  • Document all splices, fiber counts, and matrix information accurately
  • Provide required close‑out deliverables (OTDR traces, cut sheets, photos, etc.)
  • Perform daily equipment checks and basic maintenance
  • Keep vehicles, tools, and work areas clean and organized
  • Notify the Manager of any equipment issues or repair needs
Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of fiber splicing experience required
  • Proficiency with fusion splicing equipment
  • Ability to read splice plans and fiber documentation
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Knowledge of safe work practices and emergency procedures
