Due to continued rapid growth, Noble Biomaterials, Inc. is seeking a Technical Development Chemist to join our expanding team.


About the Role: We are seeking a Technical Development Chemist to lead the development and improvement of metallization processes for textile-based materials. This role focuses on optimizing silver-plating chemistry, improving product quality (uniformity, adhesion, conductivity), and scaling solutions from lab to production. You will work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to translate research into practical manufacturing improvements.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and optimize pre-treatment, activation, and plating chemistries
  • Design and run lab and pilot-scale experiments to improve metallization processes
  • Troubleshoot and improve plating bath stability, performance, and recovery
  • Analyze data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement
  • Support scale-up, production trials, and process qualification
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Production, and EHS
  • Document and present technical findings and recommendations
  • Provide technical support across teams and for customer-related issues
  • Contribute to new technology development and long-term roadmaps
  • Review raw materials (SDS/COA) and support quality lab activities


We're Looking For:

  • MS or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in plating, metallization, surface treatment, or specialty chemicals

Required Skills

  • Experience with electroplating or electroless plating (silver, copper, nickel, etc.)
  • Understanding of surface preparation and activation on non-conductive materials
  • Strong analytical skills (e.g., SEM, XRF, ICP, titration)
  • Ability to design and interpret experiments independently

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of bath chemistry (complexation, additives, stabilizers)
  • Understanding of deposition kinetics and process variables
  • Experience in regulated or quality-driven environments (ISO, GMP, etc.)

Nice to Have

  • Textile or polymer surface chemistry experience
  • Continuous/roll-to-roll processing knowledge
  • Familiarity with silver chemistry and tarnish prevention
