PRIMARY FUNCTION
Reports to the Quality Manager, supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in inspection, testing and final inspection on raw materials as well as on finished goods on the production/ manufacturing shop floor of mechanical and/or electronic components of aircraft and/or ground support vehicles prior to presenting to internal or external customer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Oversee daily work of personnel as assigned to include time and attendance, OT scheduling
• Manages personnel issues and conduct investigations and problem solving as required
• Interacts with customers, engineering, programs and operations on a daily basis
• Interfacing to set priorities as required by production scheduling
• Attend numerous meeting sometimes working beyond the normal shift
• Provide and/or delegates, guidance, mentorship and training
• Coordinate with the Customer Quality Assurance Representative concerning quality matters, mandatory inspection points and final acceptance inspection of contract end items or services
• Assists Quality team members or management with failure and nonconforming material data recording and reporting
• Carries out audits and supports audits
• Actively participates in business and strategic planning when needed
• Insure all training for your Inspectors are kept up to date
• Ensure that personnel have all items necessary to accomplish their assigned task
• Review Project work request for completeness and accuracy
• Provide accurate weekly/monthly status reporting, metrics, and other contractual obligations to meet project performance requirements and customer expectations
• Other duties as directed by the assigned Supervision
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have direct reports and supervisory responsibilities. This position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks and delegate duties as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
• Must be able to analyze program risk and develop mitigation strategies
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs
• Use special test equipment and tools
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with external contacts such as customers, vendors, suppliers, shipping companies
• Must be trustworthy - will handle confidential information routinely
• Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others
• Strong customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up
• Analytical skills with ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas
• Strong decision analysis and problem solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management
• Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
• High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently
• Ability to multi-task
QUALIFICATIONS:
• This position requires a minimum of a High School diploma/GED
• (10) Years Quality experience, minimum of (15) years working with standards, policies and regulatory requirements (Government and/or Commercial)
• Associate degree desirable
• Preferred candidates will have experience at a minimum in one or more of the following qualifications: electrical, mechanical, electronics, hydraulics, fuels, NDI, painting, welding, structures and/or composites
• Airframe & Power plant license highly desirable
• Maintain Certifications as required to perform duties
• Experience in a manufacturing/repair station/research & development environment preferred
• Must be able to travel to Customers or Suppliers location
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field required.
• Experience working on government programs
• Experience with quality assurance, modifications, and maintenance
• Ability to pass a drug and background screening
