ADVERTISING TITLE: SENIOR DATA ANALYST

This open state advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Research & Data Analysis.

The purpose of the Senior Data Analyst is to lead and manage research projects that assess and improve department policies and programs through data analysis, collaboration with management, and comprehensive reporting.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Oversee projects to evaluate the effectiveness of department policies, procedures, and programs, identifying areas for management improvement and prioritizing tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Collaborate with senior management and operational staff to identify projects, analyze data, and resolve managerial or operational issues.
  • Conduct exploratory statistical analysis, develop hypotheses, and present findings to senior management, refining research methods as needed.
  • Create detailed methodologies for each project, explaining how to perform scientific analysis of specific issues and documenting measurement and data considerations.
  • Produce comprehensive reports with methodologies, analysis, results, and recommendations, and compile specialized statistical reports for various government agencies and stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess at least four years of professional experience analyzing data and computer programming. An associate degree can substitute for two years of the experience. A bachelor's degree can substitute for four years of experience.
  • Must possess prior experience writing programs, queries, or formulas using SAS.
  • Must possess experience with criminal justice data.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
