Cancer Research Cytotechnologist (Hiring Immediately) – Tampa, FL

Growing cancer research organization seeks ASCP certified Cytotechnologist. Day shift available. Sign‑on and relocation assistance available.

Salary: $61,000 - $104,000 per year.

Job Details

As a technologist, you will work under general supervision. You will perform highly complex laboratory testing procedures, evaluate specimen acceptability, prepare clinical specimens, and identify specimen‑related problems. You will analyze specimens, review and release test results, prepare stock solutions, reagents and cocktails, and test these according to standard criteria, documenting all observations. You will also document corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications. You demonstrate initiative in improving efficiency and productivity and provide consistent feedback. You maintain the laboratory in a clean, functional state, perform or schedule equipment and instrument maintenance, calibration, and certification as required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Cytogenetics from an accredited college or university preferred, or a Bachelor’s degree in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences with at least one year of laboratory experience.

Qualifications

ASCP license in Cytology and a current Florida Histotechnician or Histotechnologist license required (eligible licensees for Florida will be considered). Nationally, ASCP CG required. FL State Laboratory Personnel License or eligibility required.
