Job description

Job Description

The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County ("BXDA") is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. By "Pursuing Justice with Integrity," the BXDA places a focus on assistance for crime victims while simultaneously ensuring fairness to defendants. Moreover, the BXDA aims to balance the need to seek appropriate punishment for certain crimes while recognizing when punitive measures do not adequately advance justice. By recognizing these significant distinctions and acting accordingly, BXDA has established a standard of excellence in the representation of the Bronx community at large, which continues to grow stronger every day.
In furtherance of this mission, the BXDA seeks experienced and enthusiastic Data Content Analyst II.
The Data Content Analyst II will play a crucial role in ensuring that the data entered into the case tracking system is accurate, complete, and transparent and will support the office in meeting its obligations under these new laws. The Data Content Analyst will also play a key role in maintaining the integrity of case tracking system(s), especially the inbound and outbound data integrations, while ensuring timely and accurate case information and providing support to other bureaus across the agency on analysis and reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
Specific duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert on complex data feeds and the relationships in the data with the ability to assist / train Tier 1 staff in verifying data accuracy.
- Perform complex data quality analysis, prepare and deliver reports on overall plans, activities, and performance metrics and collaborate across bureaus to develop strategies to correct deficiencies or problems.
- Resolve escalated issues by analyzing systems or data issues to assess accessibility, accuracy and identify opportunities for system enhancements/corrections or new data sources.
- Monitor daily inbound data feeds to ensure the reception of accurate information from external agencies update the affected database(s) to be ready for BXDA consumption and use.
- Research competitive solutions that assist in customer service of internal applications and telecommunications systems (ex. IVR System) and provide a comparison matrix of potential solutions.
- Template creation and maintenance for document standardization (ex. Affidavits).
- Content administration for intranet/internal application portals.
- Maintain and execute tools and methods to support reproducible and automated reports and analyses.
- Provide support to other bureaus across the agency on analysis and reporting.
Preferred Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in Information systems / Computer Science related majors or at least two (2) years of working experience in associated fields. A background in Criminal justice, legal studies/related fields is a plus.
