Job description

Rowan University is hiring a Research Computing Support Specialist (PSS1). This role supports scientific computing hardware and software for the Enterprise System Administration team and the Center for Scientific Computing, working closely with faculty and researchers to architect equipment and configure high performance computing resources. The specialist optimizes security configurations, maintains support documentation, and helps streamline the technology procurement process for research labs.

Highlights
  • Collaborate with faculty and researchers to architect and estimate computational equipment requirements
  • Configure computing resources for teaching, research labs, and centralized High Performance Computing facilities
  • Set up user access, compile and install scientific computing software, and deliver user training
  • Enforce security configurations and standards across scientific computing equipment
  • Contribute to the design and execution of dedicated research environments
  • Maintain online documentation including Technical Design Documents and support procedures
  • Master's degree in a related field, or a bachelor's degree with two years of equivalent experience
  • Experience with Linux-based HPC systems, Linux and Windows desktop administration, and networking is a plus
  • Base salary range $85,550 - $98,388 plus Rowan's full benefits package including retirement contributions and tuition benefits
