Job description

This is your opportunity to become an employee-owner of Applied Research Associates, Inc. ARA is a 2,200-person engineering and science company seeking experienced candidates to lead the development and execution of programs in the Vicksburg, MS office. What you will do as the Computer Sciences & Consulting Services Group Leader

The successful applicant will be responsible for identifying, marketing, and leading efforts to generate new business for clients including the US Government, both military and civilian, state governments, and large commercial companies. The primary areas of business include, but are not limited to:

  • Data management & analysis
  • Enterprise development
  • Application development
  • Mobile computing
  • GIS capabilities

The successful applicant must have experience leading large federally funded programs or the equivalent and must be able to conduct preliminary and advanced studies and prepare and present major portions of proposals. The position also requires supervision of a group of very talented software developers. Those who have led teams that have conceived and developed solutions to complex problems will be given primary consideration.

Requirements:

  • BS or higher in Computer Science or related field
  • At least 10 years of experience, including:
    • Experience leading government funded research and/or software development programs
    • Demonstrated experience and success leading business development and proposal writing
    • Ability to lead projects from conception to conclusion with teams of engineers, scientists, and software developers
  • Recognized subject matter expertise in computer engineering
  • Must be able to obtain DoD security clearance, which includes US citizenship
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% time

Location

This position is based in the ARA office in the historic town of Vicksburg, MS, near the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). The ARA Southern Division also operates facilities in the Washington D.C. metro area extensive office and meeting space within a short distance to many government agencies and industry partners, as well as in Huntsville, AL (located near Redstone Arsenal).
