How you'll contribute
A Respiratory Therapist who excels in this role:
  • Examine patients with breathing-related conditions and conduct diagnostic testing.
  • Consult with physicians to develop and implement a treatment plan for the patient.
  • Perform physiotherapy and other treatments and teach patients to use medication.
  • Measure lung capacity ana analyze blood samples using blood gas analyzer.
  • Perform bedside PFTs, EKGs, and tobacco cessation education as ordered.
  • Deliver and evaluate patient response to therapy per plan of care.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately.
  • Respond to codes and emergent calls for respiratory assistance.
  • Provide rapid assessment and appropriate intervention.
  • Educate patients and families about illness management and community resources.
  • Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices.
  • Stock and distribute respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
  • Maintain storage areas with required levels and equipment.
  • Clean, sterilize, maintain, and calibrate equipment.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provide quality patient care.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have an associate's degree om respiratory therapist. Additional requirements include:
  • Current CRT or RRT license in state of practice
  • BCLS required
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred
