A career within RSMโ€™s Corporate Tax services will provide you with the opportunity to help our public and private multinational corporate tax clients meet their accounting for income tax reporting requirements and income tax consulting and compliance obligations, while managing the impact tax has on their business. Youโ€™ll advise clients on their tax strategy using both your industry experience and technical expertise with a cross functional team, while delivering a customized technology-enabled service delivery model to facilitate better decision making in achieving our clientsโ€™ strategic objectives.

As a Tax Senior Associate, you will be responsible for the following job duties which are focused around two core concepts; your technical & quality expertise, and delivering excellent client service:

  • Preparing complex Tax returns โ€“ approximately 25-40% of your time
  • Develop, motivate, and train staff level and intern team members โ€“ approximately 10% of your time
  • Detailed review and analysis of Tax returns โ€“ approximately 10-15%
  • Interact directly with clients handling questions, planning, concerns, etc.
  • Performing, documenting, and summarizing research and conclusions regarding specific tax issues โ€“ approximately 10% of your time
  • Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Some travel may be required

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree โ€“ preferably in Accounting or related field of study
  • Must be eligible to sit for the CPA exam or a licensed JD
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a public accounting environment
  • Experience with C-Corps
  • Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or to collect necessary information for tax service requirements
  • Experience preparing and reviewing returns
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters of Accounting
  • CPA, JD, LLM, or EA
  • Experience with a national or large regional accounting firm
  • Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740
  • Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance
  • Strong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation, review experience a plus
  • Experience in dealing with international tax matters a plus
  • Fluent in French(Francais), German(Deutsch), Japanese(ๆ—ฅๆœฌ่ชž) or Mandarin(ๆ™ฎ้€š่ฏ) to include but not limited to speaking, writing and reading with a deep understanding of the culture and business practices within country of fluency
  • Proven track record of managing relationships with large non US companies with significant operations in North America

At RSM, an employeeโ€™s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $67,900 - $128,700

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
