Research Associate

Pay Rate:  
$35-40/hour
Overview:
In this role, you will lead hands-on cell culture, model development, and sample preparation to support single-cell RNA-seq workflows, ensuring consistent quality and reliability while collaborating with the team to drive rigorous, reproducible research and maintain smooth lab operations.
Schedule: 
Monday-Friday, standard working hours
 
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and expand mammalian cell cultures, including iPSC lines, iPSC-derived cell types, and 3D organoid models, by performing differentiation, media preparation, plating, passaging, expansion, and cryopreservation with strict sterile techniques.
  • Monitor and document culture health, morphology, and consistency through routine checks to ensure reliable and reproducible standards for downstream applications.
  • Prepare single-cell and single-nucleus samples from cells, organoids, and tissue by performing dissociation, viability assessment, debris management, counting, and input quality control tailored for single-cell RNA-seq technology.
  • Execute cell culture and sample preparation experiments and support studies involving drug and molecule treatments across varying doses and time points under the direction of senior team members.
  • Generate high-quality, reproducible data, maintain organized experimental records, and help develop protocols and standard operating procedures as workflows mature.
  • Manage daily lab operations including inventory, reagent and consumable restocking, equipment maintenance, and calibration to ensure experiments are well-supported and the lab runs efficiently.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • BS or MS in Biology or related field.
  • 2+ years of industry experience with mammalian cell culture.
