ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY: Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is currently searching for 12 Student Research Associates to work in a funded research project sponsored by the Los Angeles County Public Works, Safe Clean Water Program, under the supervision of Dr. Ali Sharbat, project director, and Dr. Mehrad Kamalzare, co-project director.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

  • The research associate will assist the project directors with all aspects of the project that is related to stormwater collection and dry-well infiltration and testing.
  • The research associate will assist in various tasks of the project including but not limited to: library studies, literature review, site visits, field data collection, water and soil sampling and analysis, quality control, quality assurance, experimental design, data analysis, meeting attendance, and development of project reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a student in civil or environmental engineering or related engineering majors with some technical academic research experience.

PREFERRED:

  • Internship experience in engineering field.
  • Water research training/experience is preferred.
  • Possess good writing communication, self-starter, and leadership skills.
  • The ability work in a team setting and to positively interact with other students, faculty and staff.
