Position Description:

This position provides technical support to the Ophthalmology staff and residents. Examines eyes to determine nature and degree of vision problem or eye disease and prescribes corrective lenses or procedures.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Will provide optometry services for academic medical center, provide patient cares services in outpatient and inpatient settings.

  • Assist in overall clinical administrative operations making suggestion as to how to improve operational efficiency practice within the Department of Surgery.

  • Will participate in the overall teaching program for teaching and training of residents and medical student to include presentation of lectures.

  • Remain current with all licensure, certifications, and mandatory compliance and training requirements for this position.

  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.).

  • Personally demonstrate, display and act in accordance with TTUHSC EP's Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Serve as a Value's leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
