Working in the laboratory of Professor Boris Bernhardt, the Research Assistant 1 will be in charge of the following:

Patient Coordination

  • participant recruitment, scheduling, and handling
  • Communicate preparation instructions and follow-up details to patients.
  • Provide support during patient imaging sessions.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure all documentation is complete.

Administrative Support:

  • coordination of and assisting in diverse data acquisitions (MRI, EEG, cognitive testing, specimen collection)
  • data transfer, quality control, open science activities.
  • coordinating REB/IRB applications to consolidate ongoing and planned research activities.
  • Participate in research activities in the form of data analysis, scientific writing, and conference participation.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with lab members, technicians, clinical department.
  • Coordinate handovers and updates with team members.

Operational Management:

  • Ensure lab compliance with administrative protocols.
  • Troubleshoot scheduling or communication issues as they arise.

Qualifications

-Bachelor degree

-At least one year of experience in working with patient populations. Experience in epilepsy research and interest in working with people with epilepsy and autism.

-Experience in cognitive testing and/or EEG and/or MRI studies. Skills in multimodal data processing (EEG, MRI, ...) as well as prior record of academic publications.

-Experience in writing IRB/REB applications is an asset.

-Excellent spoken/written English and French and prior experience to working in a multidisciplinary setting with a group of researchers and clinicians.

-Excellent organizational and communication skills.

-Attention to detail and priority setting skills.

-Ability and enthusiasm to work with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and trainees.
