Job description

R&D Lab Technician

We are seeking an experienced R&D Lab Technician to support product development efforts through prototype assembly, testing, fixture development, and laboratory operations. This role requires a hands-on technician who can work independently with limited supervision while supporting engineers throughout the development and testing process.

Responsibilities

โ€ข Build prototype assemblies and R&D test fixtures from engineering specifications and drawings

โ€ข Execute test procedures and protocols with minimal supervision

โ€ข Document test results and prepare reports following established procedures

โ€ข Provide feedback on test methods, fixture designs, and product improvements

โ€ข Support engineers with troubleshooting of simple electrical circuits, mechanical assemblies, software functionality, and accessories

โ€ข Interface with vendors and manufacturing teams regarding assembly processes

โ€ข Source components, parts, and laboratory supplies

โ€ข Inspect components using calipers and other precision measurement equipment

โ€ข Maintain laboratory organization, equipment, and work areas

โ€ข Present test findings and improvement recommendations to project team members

Qualifications

โ€ข High School Diploma required

โ€ข Minimum 3 years of hands-on laboratory, testing, prototype, manufacturing, or engineering technician experience

โ€ข Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings

โ€ข Experience building mechanical and electromechanical assemblies

โ€ข Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement equipment

โ€ข Ability to follow semi-complex test procedures and accurately document results
