The role:
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Development, Robot.com is seeking a Corporate Development Analyst to join our Corporate Development team. This role is ideal for an individual with strong analytical, financial, and business intelligence (BI) skills, along with an interest in corporate strategy. The Corporate Development Analyst will be responsible for supporting the execution of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategic partnerships, and other key business development initiatives. You will work closely with senior management to identify opportunities for growth, assess the strategic impact of potential transactions, and leverage BI tools to inform decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
  • M&A Support and Execution:
    • Assist in identifying, evaluating, and executing mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
    • Build and maintain financial models (e.g., discounted cash flow, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions) to assess the financial impact of acquisitions and other transactions.
    • Support the due diligence process by gathering, analyzing, and presenting financial, operational, and market data.
  • Strategic Planning and Analysis:
    • Conduct industry, market, and competitive research to identify emerging trends and growth opportunities.
    • Provide analytical support in the development of strategic initiatives, new business opportunities, and long-term planning.
    • Evaluate and model the financial impact of potential strategic initiatives and investments.
    • Utilize BI tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to create data-driven insights and dashboards that support strategic decision-making.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting:
    • Perform detailed financial analysis, including valuation, forecasting, and scenario modeling, to evaluate business opportunities.
    • Prepare investment memoranda, reports, and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
    • Use BI tools to automate reporting processes, visualize key performance metrics, and track business performance against strategic goals.
  • Business Intelligence and Data Analytics:
    • Develop and maintain dashboards and data visualizations to track financial and operational performance.
    • Use BI tools to collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets, identifying trends and insights to inform strategic decisions.
    • Provide actionable insights based on data analysis to optimize business performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
    • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., finance, legal, operations) to support the execution of corporate transactions and strategic initiatives.
    • Help prepare materials for board meetings and senior management to support decision-making processes.
  • Transaction and Project Management:
    • Assist in managing multiple ongoing transactions, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.

Qualifications:
  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    • Familiarity with financial modeling, valuation techniques, and financial statement analysis.
    • Exposure to M&A transactions, business development, or strategic planning is a plus.
    • Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, data analysis) and PowerPoint (presentation preparation).
    • Proficiency in BI tools for data visualization, reporting, and analysis.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
