Job description

JOB TITLE: Rescue Personnel REQUISITION: FOS00D1 DEPARTMENT: Generation LOCATION: Jeffrey Energy Center, St Maryโ€™s, KS PAY: $20.00/hour with a step increase to $25.00/hour upon training completion.

Scheduled Work Hours: โ€ข This position is classified as โ€œtemporary.โ€ Regular scheduled hours are not guaranteed. Available hours are dictated by facility needs and may include a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, occasionally with short notice.

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: โ€ข Perform high angle and confined space rescues. โ€ข Provide care as first on scene for acutely ill or injured personnel. โ€ข Perform periodic inspections and inventory of emergency response and safety-related equipment and supplies. โ€ข Perform other safety related functions as assigned. โ€ข Chosen candidates will be offered the option to become instructors for CPR/AED/First Aid and Incipient Fire Training.

Education and Experience Required: โ€ข High School Diploma or equivalent. โ€ข Training as a Kansas Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) or higher preferred. โ€ข Emergency Services experience preferred.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required: โ€ข This individual must be able to function as a cohesive team member, work independently with reliability, and respond accurately and efficiently in stressful situations. โ€ข Must successfully complete the Evergy Kansas Central โ€“ Generation Confined Space and High Angle Rescue Academy following hire.

Licenses/Certifications: โ€ข Valid Kansas Driverโ€™s License. โ€ข Current Kansas EMR certification or higher preferred.

Working Conditions: โ€ข This position requires you to work inside and outside of the plant in all types of weather conditions.
โ€ข This position requires work at significant heights and in tight, confined spaces. โ€ข The employee must be medically qualified to wear a supplied-air respirator. โ€ข Occasional travel is required.
