  • Partner closely with Strategic Communications to translate company messaging into compelling earned media opportunities and external storytelling.
  • Draft and manage press releases and external announcements in close partnership with Strategic Communications and Product Marketing on launch planning and timing.
  • Lead PR strategy and execution for major company announcements, product launches, partnerships, research reports, customer stories, and corporate milestones.
  • Lead proactive media outreach by identifying compelling story opportunities, developing strategic pitches, and securing meaningful earned coverage across business, consumer, technology, financial, sustainability, and trade publications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agencies, journalists, editors, producers, and industry influencers while serving as GoodLeap’s primary day‑to‑day media contact.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and breaking news to identify rapid‑response opportunities, support reputation management, and keep leadership informed of relevant developments.
  • Build strong cross‑functional relationships across Product Marketing, Public Affairs, Product, Legal, Sales, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership to proactively identify newsworthy stories and media opportunities.
  • Support Public Affairs through media outreach related to policy issues, legislative developments, op‑ed placement, and public policy thought leadership while partnering on issues management and reputation strategy.
  • Lead executive media relations by developing briefing materials, interview preparation, messaging, and talking points for media interviews, podcasts, speaking engagements, and executive visibility opportunities.
  • Own GoodLeap’s earned content calendar, developing or managing contributed articles, bylines, executive commentary, and thought leadership that elevate executive visibility and increase share of voice.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager of Strategic Communications on awards and speaking programs by maintaining an annual calendar, identifying opportunities, writing submissions, and coordinating executive participation, targeting approximately 7–10 strategic speaking opportunities and 7–10 award submissions annually.
  • Establish scalable PR processes, reporting, and best practices.
  • Measure and report on PR performance, including earned media quality and volume, share of voice, message pull‑through, executive visibility, awards, speaking engagements, and business impact.
  • Manage external agency relationships, PR tools, media databases, monitoring platforms, wire services, reporting dashboards, editorial calendars, and budgets.
Requirements

  • Demonstrated success securing earned media across national, regional, business, technology, consumer, financial, sustainability, and trade publications.
  • Strong existing relationships with journalists across business, technology, finance, sustainability, or consumer media.
  • Experience managing a PR function from strategy through execution, reporting, and operations.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, including experience developing press releases, media pitches, executive briefing materials, contributed articles, op‑eds, and messaging documents.
