What You'll Do
As a Practice Assistant, you'll support a dynamic group of attorneys by ensuring their day-to-day workflows run smoothly. In this role, you'll serve as a trusted administrative support, helping manage critical tasks such as document preparation, scheduling, and coordination across the firm. Your ability to anticipate needs, maintain organization, and collaborate with colleagues will help our legal teams operate at their highest level in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Document Preparation & Formatting - Prepare, revise, format, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, spreadsheets, and presentations using Microsoft Office and the firm's document management systems.
  • Administrative & Workflow Coordination - Manage essential administrative tasks including conflict checks, attorney time entry, expense reports, scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, and maintaining calendars.
  • Research & Systems Support - Conduct basic research, coordinate conference calls, and assist with document filing and record management within firm systems.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration - Build strong working relationships across teams while coordinating with departments such as Accounting, General Services, and Reprographics to ensure seamless operational support.
  • File & Information Management - Maintain both paper and electronic files in accordance with firm policies, ensuring documents remain organized, accurate, and easily accessible.
  • Proactive Team Support - Anticipate the needs of attorneys and team members, providing timely administrative support that contributes to efficient operations and exceptional client service.
What You'll Bring
  • Education - High school diploma, General Educational Development (GED), or equivalent required.
  • Experience - At least five years of administrative support experience, preferably within a legal or professional services environment.
  • Technical Proficiency - Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook, with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and PowerPoint is a plus.
  • Organization & Attention to Detail - Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy while maintaining strong organizational and time management practices.
  • Communication & Client Service - Excellent written and verbal communication skills paired with a strong service-oriented mindset.
  • Professional Collaboration - A positive, flexible approach to working with attorneys, colleagues, and clients in a team-oriented environment.
  • Schedule Flexibility - Availability to work core business hours of 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime as needed.
