Job description

Our client, a leading food and consumer products company, is looking to hire a Product Quality Lab Technician in Austin, TX.


Pay Rate Range: $18–$21/hour W2, depending on experience


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and organize the product retains library, including proper storage and cataloging.
  • Prepare, cook, and present food samples for weekly end-of-shelf-life evaluations.
  • Conduct product quality evaluations and investigate potential quality concerns through store visits.
  • Document findings and communicate evaluation results to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain, clean, and organize laboratory equipment and workspaces.
  • Update laboratory policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Provide additional laboratory and administrative support as needed.
  • Follow established laboratory, quality, food safety, and documentation procedures.
  • Collaborate with Product Quality and Product Development teams to support testing and evaluation activities.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Nutrition, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a laboratory or consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
  • Experience in product development or quality assurance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing processes and laboratory techniques is preferred.
  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for food products are preferred.
  • Experience conducting product evaluations or quality investigations is preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site in Austin, TX.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to food quality, accuracy, cleanliness, and documentation.
