Job description
Patient care: We promote health and provide superb clinical care while maintaining our strong tradition of reaching underserved populations and reducing health disparities across North Carolina and beyond.
Education: We prepare tomorrow's healthcare professionals and biomedical researchers from all backgrounds by facilitating learning within innovative and integrated curricula and team-oriented interprofessional education to ensure a highly skilled workforce.
Research: We develop and support a rich array of outstanding health sciences research programs, centers and resources. We provide infrastructure and opportunities for collaboration among disciplines throughout and beyond our university to support outstanding research. We foster programs in the areas of basic, translational, mechanistic and population research.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in evidence-based psychotherapies for individuals in the perinatal period, including behavioral interventions such as Behavioral Activation and Exposure and Response Prevention, as well as third-wave behavioral approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to patient-centered and culturally responsive care, and the ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
- A doctoral degree in psychology.
- Experience in supervision of psychology graduate students or trainees.
- Applicants are required to have experience working with mental health in the perinatal context.
- Experience and success working well within a multidisciplinary environment.
- North Carolina Licensure by start date of the faculty position.
- Experience treating reproductive mental health conditions such as PMDD, infertility-related distress, and perimenopausal mental health concerns.
- Training and proficiency in behavioral and third wave interventions.
