Job description

Production Technician 1 ( Starting salary $18 - $20/h)

Performs general electroforming activities including: electroforming, electroplating and product quality control. (No prior knowledge or experience in any of these topics is required, training will take place on-site)

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for producing high quality reflective parts.
  • Will follow basic procedures to prepare, clean, and reproduce reflective parts. Will inspect product to ensure product quality.
  • Perform various tasks like plating stank stress tests, filling anode baskets with nickel, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Accurately follow the schedule, inspect, or assist with inspection, and enter production or quality data into the computer system.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing on equipment status and any process problems.
  • Enters all data and maintains records in relation to job function.
  • Follows safety protocol in all activities; includes proper housekeeping, operation of all equipment in a safe manner, and proper handling and usage of any materials to ensure environmental protection.
  • Work closely with department team leader and production schedules to complete tooling and development efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Follow prescribed safety guidelines in accordance to ORAFOL Americas Safety program; use required PPE.
  • Maintains an optimal level of product quality. Adheres to ORAFOLs Quality and Environmental Programs.
  • May work on related projects.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, Associates Degree Preferred.
  • Must have good math and communication skills.

Work Experience:

  • Entry Level Position: Training will take place on-site.
  • Electroforming, electroplating, optics related experience preferred but not mandatory.

Aptitudes & Characteristics:

  • Requires close attention to detail and a methodical approach to work process.
  • Must has a positive can do attitude and a sense of accountability; takes initiative.
  • Must be a fast learner, driven and self-motivated; with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Have a team orientated mentality.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • May be required to work overtime and on weekends.
  • May be required to work late afternoon or early evening shift.
