How You Will Make an Impact: The Surgical Scrub Techs collaborates closely with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other members of the surgical team. They play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and success of surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile environment and providing essential support to the surgical team.
What You Will Do: The Surgical Scrub Tech is responsible for the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during a surgical procedure. Understand the procedure being performed, anticipate the needs of the surgeon, ensure quality patient care during the operation, and remain constantly vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. The Surgical Scrub Tech reports to the Nurse Manager.
  • Maintain/check supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure(s); alert nurse manager if consumable surgery items are required.
  • Prepare the surgical table, blocks, and mayo stand with instruments, supplies, equipment, medications, and solutions required for each procedure.
  • Perform appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed.
  • Perform thorough prep of surgical site(s) and drapes the sterile field.
  • Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique during procedure, provide instruments to the surgeon during procedure, and prepare sterile dressing(s).
  • Prepare instruments for terminal sterilization and performs weekly terminal cleaning of operating room.
  • Assist with patient check-in, surgery scheduling, post-op follow-up, phone triage, turn-over cleaning/room preparation, patient transfer(s) (to and from OR) and obtaining vital signs.
  • Prepare sterile embryo transfer trays and provide patient support during oocyte retrieval and embryo transfers.
  • Sterilization of surgical instruments and maintains infection control policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Surgical Technologist certification from program accredited through ARC/STSA, a collaborative effort of AST and ACS, by CAAHEP, required.
  • BLS certification.
  • 1+ years OR experience required.

CCRM's Compensation: The salary range represents the national average compensation for this position. The base salary offered will vary based on location, experience, skills, and knowledge. The pay range does not reflect the total compensation package. Our rewards may include an annual bonus, flexible work arrangements, and many other region-specific benefits.
