Estela Mental Health and Reproductive Psychiatry is a growing outpatient psychiatry practice in Austin dedicated to providing thoughtful, evidence-based care across the reproductive life span, including fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and hormonal transitions. As a newer, clinician-led practice, we are intentionally building a culture grounded in collaboration, clinical excellence, and sustainability.
We are seeking a full-time, bilingual English/Spanish Psychiatric Physician Assistant or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who is excited not only about providing excellent patient care, but also about being part of shaping the culture and growth of a modern psychiatry practice.
Position Overview
This full-time outpatient role focuses on adult and reproductive psychiatry in a supportive, growth-oriented environment:
- Comprehensive psychiatric medication management with supportive therapy
- Adult patient population, including a panel of Spanish-preferred patients across Texas
- Visit structure includes 60-minute intakes and 30-minute follow-ups
- Collaborative practice with a supervising physician readily available for consultation
- Structured onboarding and mentorship
- Hybrid schedule with one work-from-home day per week
- No call, no evenings, no weekends
Compensation
- Salary Range: $110,000 to $140,000, commensurate with experience

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management visits in both English and Spanish
- Provide ongoing follow-up care with an emphasis on quality and continuity
- Maintain timely, high-quality clinical documentation
- Collaborate closely with the physician and administrative team to support coordinated, patient-centered care
- Contribute ideas and feedback to help shape clinical workflows, patient experience, and practice culture as the practice grows
- Practice in alignment with evidence-based, hormone-informed, and patient-centered standards
Qualifications โ Required
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant (PA-C, NCCPA certified) or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) in Texas, or able to obtain licensure prior to start date. New graduates are welcome to apply.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, sufficient to independently conduct psychiatric evaluations, risk assessments, and informed consent discussions in Spanish. This role serves Spanish-preferred patients, and language proficiency will be assessed during the interview process.
- Strong clinical judgment and comfort managing adult psychiatric conditions
- Familiarity with EHR systems and documentation best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, team-based environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in outpatient mental health settings
- Prior clinical experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings
- Strong interest in women's mental health and reproductive psychiatry
- Familiarity with hormone-informed or perinatal psychiatric care
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable helping build systems and processes over time
