THE ROLE:
The University Relations (UR) Recruiting Coordinator (Contract) supports AMD's Early Talent programs, with a primary focus on the Intern Program and campus recruiting events. This role partners closely with University Recruiters and Program Managers to deliver high-quality event execution, program logistics, and a best-in-class experience for candidates, interns, and new graduates.
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented coordination role ideal for someone who enjoys juggling logistics, supporting large programs, and ensuring every detail is executed smoothly during peak recruiting seasons.
JOB DETAILS:
  • Location: Austin, TX
  • Onsite/Hybrid: This is a contract position and will be hybrid (1-2-days onsite per week) throughout the duration of the contract to support in-person events and engagements.
  • This role will be employed by 3rd party agency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Campus & Event Support
  • Support planning and execution of virtual, on-campus, off-campus, and on-site recruiting and intern events.
  • Coordinate event logistics including room reservations, catering, A/V, signage, materials, and day-of setup.
  • Order, inventory, and ship campus recruiting and event materials to ensure timely delivery.
  • Create and manage event schedules in event management tools; communicate logistics, expectations, and changes clearly.
  • Register for campus events, conferences, and virtual engagements; ensure events are fully staffed and supported.
  • Track event registration costs and engagement expenses; support basic reporting.

Intern Program & Engagement
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for intern program events and engagement activities.
  • Attend and support intern events on-site; proactively resolve last-minute issues to ensure smooth execution.
  • Support ongoing intern communications and engagement touchpoints throughout the internship lifecycle.
  • Assist with candidate and intern "keep-warm" efforts, including coordination and shipment of materials.
  • Support onboarding logistics for interns and early-career hires, including welcome packages.

Operations & Program Support
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in University Relations systems and tools (event platforms, communication tools, trackers).
  • Maintain campus team and participant lists to support recruiting and intern events.
  • Support posting of job opportunities with universities, as needed.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal partners to ensure successful event execution.
  • Share ideas and provide input for future events and program improvements.
  • Assist with additional University Relations projects as needed during peak seasons.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience supporting university recruiting or early-career programs (interns, co-ops, new grads).
  • Experience coordinating virtual and in-person events.
  • Canva experience is a plus (for simple visuals, signage, or program materials).
  • Strong research and follow-through skills.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
