Job description

Aluminum Team Leader- 2nd Shift
Starting Wage 28.00 p/h plus shift differential and attendance premium.
Job Summary: This position is responsible for the supervision of Associates machining, processing, and assembly of Oil Pumps, Water Pumps, and transmission parts to be shipped to major automobile manufacturers for final assembly.
Essential Functions
  1. Facilitates daily Shift Exchange Meetings including relaying company information to and ensuring direct report Associates conduct shift overlap communication.
  2. Monitors hourly outputs through completion of Genba line-side checks and calculates target variances-Cycle time checks each Monday
  3. Troubleshoots minor equipment issues
  4. Tracks inventory variances through physical and electronic counts
  5. Works with support departments regarding associate relations issues
  6. Resolves personnel issues and consults with Administration
  7. Trains associates and technicians operate and repair equipment utilizing TWI Training Guide system including completion of timely documentation reporting.
  8. Completes daily TPM sheets and inputs into network
  9. Reviews and authorizes paperwork completed by Associates
  10. Provides supervision and guidance to Associates and improves Associate Relations through proactive intervention
  11. Completes departmental paperwork including weekly/monthly reports, inventory investigations, Associate evaluations and attends all required Team Leader training.
  12. Trains Associates on all aspects of Quality.
  13. Completes any additional job-related requests by Manager/Assist. Manager as necessary.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Functions
  1. Interact with co-workers, customers and outside vendors.
  2. Maintains clean working environment.
  3. Continuously seeks to improve processes.
  4. Promotes a safe working environment.
  5. Communicate with associates and Assistant Manager/Manager regarding production issues.
  6. Responsible and coordinates sort activity for the specific lines in charge of.
Experience Position requires one to two years of supervisory experience in an automotive manufacturing facility, familiarity with PDCA, 5-S and root cause analysis activities. Formal training in front-line leadership preferred.
Skills: Position requires excellent interpersonal skills, computer software knowledge, the ability to effectively supervise and motivate industrial labor, proactively support the company's position on issue avoidance, enforce company policies and abide by applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
