Job description

NAVA Software solutions is looking for a BI Developer.
Details:
BI Developer
Location: Boston, MA - once a month initially for 3 months and then remote
Duration: Full time / Direct Hire
The BI Developer will be part of the Information Technology team. The team focuses on high impact issues that increase overall performance. This role is responsible for data management, data governance, business reporting, and data opportunity analytics. The role requires the automation and maintenance of reports and dashboards, the identification and integration of multiple data sources, and the ability to drive solutions from concept through execution.
Duties
In addition to all duties prescribed by company policies and applicable laws and regulations, employee shall have the following additional duties (collectively, "Duties"), subject to change:
  • Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)
  • Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
  • Collaborate across company to implement reporting and data requirements in accordance to end user's needs
  • Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
  • Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
  • Handles special assignments and projects involving independent research and developments as assigned

Qualifications & Skills
In addition to being qualified to perform the duties described above, employee must also possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 3 or more years of experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) including proficiency in writing SQL queries
  • Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
  • In-depth understanding of database management systems, relational databases, OLAP and ETL processing
  • Experience with data visualization suites and major BI platforms, Domo experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience with database standards regarding items such as data backup, recovery, security and integrity
