Job Description

The Assistant Buyer position is responsible for supporting all aspects within their assigned category, including data management, forecasting, trend analysis, and assortment planning. This position will work within the inventory management system to maintain and monitor inventory levels. This team member works closely with Buyers and the Head Merchant and is a career pathway opportunity to the Buyer position.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain styles for assigned products
  • Perform data entry to support Buyers
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of item data
  • Create vendor purchase orders
  • Complete assigned purchase order maintenance tasks
  • Replenish purchase orders to support in-stock levels, sales, and margin goals
  • Utilize the Rally House inventory management system
  • Enter replenishment orders as directed
  • Support inventory management activities

Skills and Knowledge

Able to communicate with others in a clear and confident manner, Exceptional verbal, writing, and analytical skills, Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant buying, merchandising, retail, or industry experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment
  • Able to clearly view and read information on a computer screen
  • Occasionally lift or move items up to 15 pounds
