About the Shop

A growing, family-owned independent automotive repair shop is seeking a Senior Automotive Service Advisor in Reno, NV, with on-target annual earning potential of $55,000-$100,000. This opportunity offers a Monday-Friday schedule, medical, dental and vision insurance, PTO, paid holidays, and provided uniforms. The shop is looking for an experienced advisor who can take ownership of a busy repair order workload while delivering a high-quality customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer intake and vehicle write-ups while accurately documenting customer concerns and service needs.
  • Create and present repair estimates and maintenance recommendations, building customer trust through clear, professional communication.
  • Own assigned repair orders from initial intake through completion, including follow-up, authorization, status updates, and final customer communication.
  • Manage approximately 35-40 vehicles per day while staying organized and maintaining consistent follow-through.
  • Communicate with customers throughout the repair process by phone, text, and email, including both inbound and outbound communication.
  • Use Tekmetric for shop management, customer relationship management, and digital vehicle inspection workflows.
  • Work toward established sales and Average Repair Order (ARO) expectations while presenting appropriate repair and maintenance recommendations.
  • Address customer concerns and resolve escalations professionally, involving the Shop Manager when additional support is needed.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Previous automotive experience is preferred but not required; dealership, independent repair shop, or a combination of both backgrounds will be considered.
  • Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with luxury and European vehicle brands, particularly Audi, BMW, Lexus, and Mercedes-Benz.
  • Strong customer communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally by phone, text, and email.
  • Demonstrated organization, follow-through, sales ability, and ownership of customer service and repair order responsibilities.
  • Ability to resolve customer concerns and escalations while working effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
