SUMMARY 

Responsible for receiving, stocking, preparation and shipping of merchandise to customers in local and outlying areas. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

The ideal Candidate will have the ability to operate forklift/pallet jack and cherry picker; ability to lift 40-60 pounds repeatedly each shift, ability to bend, stoop, climb, stand and twist for extended periods of time; ability to successfully complete forklift training/certification requirements; and ability to operate a Radio Frequency (RF) or Voice Pick devices. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

  • Accurately select/pick merchandise from assigned slot and confirm the correct quantity and unit of measure. 

  • Load Merchandise into appropriate truck. 

  • Drop merchandise for "reserve" to "pick" slots. 

  • Prepare VIA merchandise for shipment on freight lines. 

  • Repack loose merchandise for shipping/delivery. 

  • Verify quality of product, packaging and adherence to vendor compliance policy. 

  • Accurately adhere to Warehouse Labor Standard, “Preferred Method Standard”. 

  • Identify and report slot and put-away problems. 

  • Shrink wrap merchandise/pallets after picking as needed. 

  • Performs house keeping duties as assigned. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.  

 
QUALIFICATIONS 

Education 

  • Preferred qualifications are: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Previous knowledge of SAP, one year warehouse experience and previous forklift certification. 

Experience 

  • 6 months of previous warehouse experience and/or training preferred. 

  • Material handling equipment experience preferred. 

  • Reach truck experience a plus. 

Requirement 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 

  • Must pass a functional capacity test. 

Work Environment 
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • Job is performed in a warehouse/operations environment. 

  • Frequently exposed to fast-moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment. 

  • This is a full-time position. 

  • Must have the ability to work a varying schedule which might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays. 

  • Work hours may vary or change based on customer orders, departmental or business requirements. 

  • The position does not require travel.
