The Energy Business Unit is seeking a Renewables Market Leader in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Utah, or California.

In this role, you will lead DEA's Renewables market strategy, helping diversify and expand relationships with renewable developers, owners, utilities, and strategic partners across utility-scale wind, solar, battery energy storage, and emerging energy infrastructure markets. Working closely with Energy Business Unit leadership and an established renewables technical team, you will help shape growth strategy, build new client relationships, strengthen existing partnerships, and position DEA for long-term growth across renewables and adjacent opportunities such as data center power infrastructure.

What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:
  • Lead DEA's Renewables market strategy in partnership with Energy Business Unit leadership, Client Team Leaders, Practice Leaders, and technical delivery teams.
  • Lead efforts to diversify DEA's renewables client portfolio by expanding relationships with renewable owners, developers, EPC/EPCM organizations, and emerging market participants while reducing dependence on a limited number of existing clients.
  • Develop and maintain market intelligence related to renewable energy developers, EPC/EPCM partners, utilities, funding trends, regulatory drivers, interconnection needs, technology trends, and emerging opportunities across wind, solar, BESS, and related infrastructure markets.
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with renewable energy owners and developers while positioning DEA to provide owner's engineer, infrastructure, interconnection, and power delivery services.
  • Drive business development strategy by guiding market growth plans, client strategy, sales forecasting, pursuit strategy, go/no-go discussions, teaming decisions, proposal development, and contract positioning for priority renewable energy opportunities.
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships with renewable developers, contractors, utilities, and strategic partners, serving as a senior market-facing leader when executive presence or escalation is needed.
  • Support growth in DEA's renewable energy services, including balance of plant, substation and switchyard design, transmission interconnects, energy storage, owner's engineer services, feasibility and due diligence, site development, and power system studies.
  • Partner with project managers and technical delivery leaders to ensure pursuit strategies are grounded in realistic staffing, delivery capacity, quality expectations, schedule commitments, risk management, and profitability.
  • Monitor market performance, including sales results, pipeline health, backlog, client mix, net revenue forecasts, profitability, and business development spending.
  • Represent DEA externally through client meetings, industry events, conferences, strategic partnerships, and visibility activities that strengthen DEA's renewables brand in target markets.
  • Partner on recruiting, retention, and talent development efforts to ensure DEA has the leadership, technical expertise, and client-facing capacity needed to grow the Renewables market.
What You BringRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, construction management, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience in a complex consulting, engineering, energy, renewable development, utility, EPC/EPCM, or similar organization.
  • Demonstrated success achieving business development, sales, client growth, or revenue objectives, with experience supporting an expected net sales result between $2M and $10M.
  • Experience leading or coordinating business development efforts, including opportunity identification, client strategy, pursuit planning, proposal development, and contract positioning.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy markets, including utility-scale wind, solar, battery energy storage, interconnection, balance of plant, owner's engineer, or related infrastructure services.
  • Proven ability to establish clear objectives, deliver measurable results, solve complex business or project issues, and coordinate across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted client relationships, develop staff or client-facing teams, and gain support from multiple stakeholders.
  • One or more professional licenses or credentials relevant to the candidate's discipline or market focus.
  • Active involvement in one or more professional, industry, or client-facing organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
