Job Description

As a Project Coordination Intern, you will support the Reroofing Division by assisting Project Managers and Project Administrators with the coordination and administration of commercial roofing projects. This internship provides hands-on exposure to project management processes within the commercial roofing industry while developing organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. The intern will assist with project documentation, scheduling, communication, and daily operational support to help ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

1. Project Coordination and Administrative Support:

  • Assist Project Managers and Project Administrators with daily project coordination activities.
  • Support the preparation and organization of project documentation including RFIs, submittals, contracts, change orders, and project correspondence.
  • Help maintain project schedules, logs, and tracking reports to support timely project completion.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to assist with project execution and communication.
  • Attend project meetings and take notes or distribute follow-up information as needed.
  • Assist with material ordering, delivery tracking, and job file organization.
  • Conduct occasional jobsite visits to observe project progress, safety practices, and quality standards.
  • Support project closeout activities including warranty documentation and final project records.

2. Financial and Operational Support:

  • Assist with tracking project expenses, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Support Project Managers with data entry and reporting related to project budgets and schedules.
  • Help maintain accurate records for labor, materials, and subcontractor information.
  • Assist with organizing billing documentation and project-related paperwork.
  • Learn and utilize company project management systems and software platforms

3. Client and Team Communication:

  • Maintain professional communication with internal teams, vendors, subcontractors, and customers.
  • Assist with responding to project-related requests and follow-up communication.
  • Support coordination efforts between field teams and office staff to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Build collaborative working relationships with team members across departments.

4. Learning and Development:

  • Gain exposure to commercial roofing project management processes and industry practices.
  • Learn company safety standards, roofing systems, and project workflows.
  • Participate in training opportunities and mentorship provided by Project Managers and leadership staff.
  • Develop organizational, time management, and communication skills within a professional construction environment.

5. Additional Responsibilities:

  • Handle additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in construction management, business, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Interest in construction project management and the commercial roofing industry.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management software is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Positive attitude and team-player mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to climb a 40-foot ladder and lift heavy objects with reasonable accommodation if required.
  • Willingness to travel locally as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • OSHA certification or willingness to complete certification during the internship.
