Remote Writing information

What is remote writing?

A remote writing job involves creating written content for clients or employers while working from a location outside of a traditional office, such as your home or a co-working space. These jobs can include blogging, technical writing, copywriting, content creation, or editing. Remote writers often collaborate with teams using online communication tools and may work as freelancers or full-time employees. The flexibility of remote writing allows for a better work-life balance and the opportunity to work with clients globally.

What does a remote writer do?

As a remote writer, your day often involves researching topics, creating original content, proofreading and editing, and communicating with editors or clients through email or collaboration platforms. Time management is essential, as you may juggle multiple assignments or work for several clients or publications simultaneously. While most work is done independently, regular virtual check-ins and feedback sessions help align project goals and maintain quality. Staying organized and proactive in communication ensures you meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities in a remote team environment. This setup offers flexibility, but also requires a strong sense of responsibility and initiative.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote writing?

To thrive in Remote Writing, you need excellent written communication skills, strong grammar and editing abilities, and typically a bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), search engine optimization (SEO) tools, and word processing software is often required. Self-motivation, time management, and adaptability are key soft skills for excelling in independent, deadline-driven remote work environments. These skills are crucial for producing high-quality content, meeting deadlines, and effectively managing projects without direct supervision.

Job description

At Loftware, It’s all right there — the scale, the expertise, and the opportunity to grow your career in a business-critical industry.

Job Title: Principal Product Manager

Possible locations:

  • Portsmouth, NH, USA (Hybrid), Remote (U.S.-based candidates working EST hours
  • Reading, United Kingdom (hybrid or remote)

Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Some product roles are about keeping things running. This one is about deciding where the business goes next. As Principal Product Manager, you'll take on the problems that are too big, too cross-cutting, or too strategically important to hand to anyone else — and you'll own them from the first insight to the business impact they create. If you're energized by setting strategy that the whole company lines up behind, and you understand the importance of outcomes, this is built for you.

As a Principal Product Manager (PPM), you'll own the mission-critical product areas that move the business — the problems that shape where the company goes next. This is an individual-contributor role for someone who wants to set long-term strategy, drive it across multiple teams through influence rather than authority, and be measured on the outcomes that matter most to the company.

You'll operate as a product thought leader and a trusted partner to Engineering, Design, Architecture, GTM, and Executive Leadership — translating strategy into differentiated customer and business outcomes that the whole company can rally behind.

The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $180,000 per year, based on a full-time schedule.

This range reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Where an offer falls within the range depends on factors including: relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and work location.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Own the end-to-end strategy for a major product, platform capability, or customer problem space — and the business results it drives.
  • Set the product vision and roadmap, and define the success metrics that prove it moved the company's strategy forward.
  • Balance customer needs, business outcomes, and technical feasibility in all decisions.
  • Act as a subjectmatter expert for the product area internally and externally.

Customer & Market Leadership

  • Deeply understand customer workflows, pain points, and desired outcomes.
  • Turn qualitative and quantitative insight into the high-impact opportunities that grow the business.
  • Translate customer and market insights into clear product direction and prioritization.
  • Represent the voice of the customer in executive and crossfunctional forums.

Execution & Delivery

  • Lead complex, cross-team initiatives from discovery through delivery and adoption — owning the outcome, not just the launch.
  • Partner with Engineering and Architecture on technical strategy and tradeoffs.
  • Write highlevel product requirements, narratives, and decision documents.
  • Ensure delivered outcomes meet customer, quality, and scalability expectations.

Influence & Collaboration

  • Lead through influence across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, Support, and Services.
  • Drive alignment on priorities, dependencies, and sequencing across teams.
  • Provide input into planning, investment decisions, and executive communication.

Outcomes & Accountability

  • Define and track success using clear metrics (customer adoption, business impact, quality).
  • Continuously assess results and adapt strategy based on learnings.
  • Own decisions and outcomes for the product area.

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management, with sustained success at senior product manager or principal level.
  • Proven ability to own and scale complex, enterprise or platform products.
  • Strong strategic thinking paired with handson execution capability.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority.
  • Strong analytical skills and datainformed decision making.

Preferred

  • Experience in SaaS, cloud platforms, or enterprise software.
  • Experience in Supply Chain.
  • Experience working with global teams and customers.

Success Metrics

  • Measurable business and customer impact from owned product area.
  • Clear, durable product strategy adopted across teams.
  • Strong crossfunctional alignment and reduced friction.
  • Successful delivery of complex, multiteam initiatives.
  • Increased product maturity, scalability, and customer value.
