Remote Writing information
What is remote writing?
A remote writing job involves creating written content for clients or employers while working from a location outside of a traditional office, such as your home or a co-working space. These jobs can include blogging, technical writing, copywriting, content creation, or editing. Remote writers often collaborate with teams using online communication tools and may work as freelancers or full-time employees. The flexibility of remote writing allows for a better work-life balance and the opportunity to work with clients globally.
What does a remote writer do?
As a remote writer, your day often involves researching topics, creating original content, proofreading and editing, and communicating with editors or clients through email or collaboration platforms. Time management is essential, as you may juggle multiple assignments or work for several clients or publications simultaneously. While most work is done independently, regular virtual check-ins and feedback sessions help align project goals and maintain quality. Staying organized and proactive in communication ensures you meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities in a remote team environment. This setup offers flexibility, but also requires a strong sense of responsibility and initiative.
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote writing?
To thrive in Remote Writing, you need excellent written communication skills, strong grammar and editing abilities, and typically a bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), search engine optimization (SEO) tools, and word processing software is often required. Self-motivation, time management, and adaptability are key soft skills for excelling in independent, deadline-driven remote work environments. These skills are crucial for producing high-quality content, meeting deadlines, and effectively managing projects without direct supervision.

Job description
Working at The Adaptavist Group
The Adaptavist Group is a global family of companies with a common goal. We combine the best of teamwork, technology, and processes, helping all kinds of businesses be better today and tomorrow.
We are experts at delivering enterprise software, tailored solutions, and quality services across some of the world's most trusted technology ecosystems, including Atlassian, AWS, Slack, GitLab, monday.com and Aha!
We make change happen. From anywhere.
What we offer you
We offer a very generous holiday (PTO) allowance, trusting you to take vacation time that suits your personal life, alongside flexible working hours that empower you to work when it best fits you and your team. We provide MacBooks to all employees and additional support for fully remote workers to set up their home offices.
Our exceptional Time Away Policy includes 26 weeks of fully paid leave for birthing parents, 13 weeks for non-birthing parents, and extended leave for adoption, IVF, surrogacy, elective egg freezing, and women's health needs such as menopause, menstruation, endometriosis, and PCOS.
Our trusting, flexible, remote-first way of working means that work can fit around your life, rather than your life fitting around work.

Are you highly organised, detail-focused, and confident managing the moving parts behind successful project delivery?
We're looking for a Project Manager Administrator to join our PMO & Services Operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing structure, accuracy, and operational control to a busy services environment.
In this role, you'll play a key part in keeping our internal project operations running smoothly - from system set-up and resource coordination to forecasting, auditing, and invoicing. You'll work closely with consultants, project teams, operations, and finance to ensure projects are accurately maintained behind the scenes and that all invoicing is issued correctly and on time.
If you enjoy working across systems, supporting project delivery, and making sure the details are right, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
As Project Manager Administrator, you'll support the smooth running of multiple non-client-facing projects and engagements from an operational and systems perspective.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and maintaining projects in internal systems
- Supporting resource booking, scheduling, and coordination
- Tracking project budgets, purchase orders, invoices, and expenses where needed
- Auditing and maintaining system data to ensure accuracy and cleanliness
- Coordinating between SPP and Finance to support accurate invoicing
- Working with project teams to ensure forecasts are current and accurate
- Keeping project plans and timelines up to date, including baseline and actual timelines
- Supporting governance by helping ensure project processes, templates, and reporting standards are followed
- Carrying out charge analysis and helping maintain strong financial control across project activity
What we're looking for
- Experience working with project financials, including reconciling revenue and expenses
- Confidence using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Experience with Atlassian tools, including Jira Roadmaps and Confluence
- Experience working with SPP and/or similar project or professional services systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to keep data, systems, and reporting accurate
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with remote teams
- A self-motivated, organised, and professional approach
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and technical environment
- A helpful, personable, and team-oriented attitude
It would be great if you also have:
- An understanding of Project Management methodologies, such as Waterfall, PRINCE2, or Agile
- Experience with the wider Atlassian toolset
- Experience using NetSuite SPP or similar systems
