We are seeking a Proposal Manager to lead the development of compelling customer-facing proposals, renewals, and RFx responses that support our growth and impact in K-12 education.
Position Summary
The Proposal Manager plays a key role in supporting business development by creating high-quality proposals, managing proposal workflows, and maintaining a library of reusable content and collateral.
Working across departments, this individual will develop customized proposals that clearly communicate the value of Instructional Empowerment's services and solutions. The Proposal Manager will build efficient systems for proposal creation, content management, version control, and tracking while leveraging AI and proposal technology tools to improve quality and efficiency.
What You'll Do
  • Develop and manage proposals for new business opportunities, renewals, and RFx submissions.
  • Create professional, accurate, and visually compelling proposal documents.
  • Customize proposal content to address district-specific needs and priorities.
  • Build and maintain a centralized library of proposal content, narratives, and reusable collateral.
  • Ensure product messaging, research, and supporting evidence remain current and consistent.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information and develop winning proposal responses.
  • Become a subject matter expert on Instructional Empowerment's products, services, and instructional framework.
  • Serve as the power user for proposal management tools and leverage AI to optimize proposal development.
  • Track proposal status, version history, timelines, and key milestones.
  • Develop proposal budgets aligned to approved scopes of work using CRM tools.
  • Analyze proposal outcomes and provide insights to improve future win rates and processes.
  • Coordinate follow-up activities and additional information requests throughout the proposal lifecycle.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in persuasive, deadline-driven technical writing, including:
    • RFP responses
    • RFx submissions
    • Government or educational proposals
    • Grant writing
    • Complex business proposals
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience developing and organizing digital content libraries and knowledge management systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality control, and version management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting K-12 education organizations or school districts.
  • Knowledge of K-12 funding sources, purchasing cycles, regulations, and procurement processes.
  • APMP Foundation Certification.
  • Experience building proposal budgets with detailed line-item pricing.
  • Experience with Salesforce, SharePoint, RocketDocs, Microsoft Teams, or similar platforms.
