Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with clients to assess their mental, emotional, and behavioral health, meticulously documenting each case from the initial consultation through to the end of treatment.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate appropriate interventions tailored specifically for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based techniques and therapeutic modalities that foster healing and growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate client progress consistently, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed while keeping accurate records of progress updates.
  • Collaborate actively with other mental health specialists and healthcare providers to create comprehensive intervention plans, ensuring a cohesive approach to each client's care.
  • Handle referrals effectively, coordinating care with outside specialists, including following up with psychiatrists for clients who may require additional psychiatric support.
  • Identify and address potential behaviors that impede recovery, providing support and strategies to help clients navigate their personal challenges.
  • Work closely with family members and caregivers, imparting skills and strategies to manage mental health challenges effectively.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will have the privilege of working with a diverse client population that includes individuals coping with a variety of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. You will also engage with families looking for guidance and support to navigate their loved ones' mental health challenges, making a profound impact on their wellbeing.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • A current and valid license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW) in the state of Illinois.
  • Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Proven experience as a mental health counselor, showcasing a robust foundation in therapeutic intervention.
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems, particularly with tools like AVATAR, to maintain accurate client documentation.
  • Familiarity with clinical best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • In-depth understanding of psychotropic medication effects, and the ability to communicate this knowledge to clients effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—as well as strong interpersonal abilities that foster trust and rapport with clients.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with clients experiencing comorbid physical and emotional health conditions, as well as those facing challenges related to addiction disorders.
  • Completion of continuing education workshops or training focused on emerging therapies and counseling techniques.
Compensation and Benefits
