Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist to join their Alabama operations. This position will be responsible for managing moderate to complex Alabama Workers’ Compensation claims from initial assignment through resolution. Qualified candidates must have strong knowledge of Alabama Workers’ Compensation law and hold an active Alabama Adjuster’s License.
 
  • Manage a caseload of 85-100 moderate to complex Workers’ Compensation claims with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinate and monitor medical treatment, ensuring injured workers remain compliant with scheduled appointments and evaluating return-to-work opportunities.
  • Negotiate claim settlements with injured workers and attorneys, as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate claim files, establish and adjust reserves, and ensure timely documentation throughout the life of the claim.
  • Oversee litigated claims and collaborate with defense counsel throughout the litigation process.
  • Present serious or complex claims to committee when necessary and participate in ongoing training initiatives.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service while consistently adhering to departmental best practices.
 
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of Workers’ Compensation Lost Time claims handling experience
  • Strong knowledge of Alabama Workers’ Compensation law
  • Active Alabama Adjuster’s License required
  • Experience handling litigated Workers’ Compensation claims
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
 
Salary/Benefits:
  • $75,000–$95,000 annual base salary, plus bonus
