Job description

Role: Technical Specialist- Junior
Location: REMOTE
Duration: 12+ months contract
Experienced Java Developer needed to help with migration project to migrate away from RichFaces 3.3 to modern and widely adopted UI technologies, including Java and jQuery
Our organization currently relies on an extensive enterprise application that utilizes RichFaces 3.3, an outdated and unsupported UI framework. The maintenance and future development of this application are becoming increasingly challenging due to compatibility issues, security vulnerabilities, and limited community support for RichFaces 3.3. To ensure the long-term sustainability, maintainability, and security of our application, a strategic initiative has been planned to migrate away from RichFaces 3.3 to modern and widely adopted UI technologies, including Java and jQuery.
Objectives:
The primary objectives of this migration project are:
Modernization:
  • Replace RichFaces 3.3 components with modern UI technologies to enhance user experience, improve application performance, and align with current industry standards.
  • Compatibility and Support: Ensure compatibility with current and future versions of Java and related frameworks, as well as ongoing community support for maintained technologies.
  • Security and Compliance: Address security vulnerabilities associated with outdated technologies and ensure compliance with organizational security standards and regulations.
  • To successfully execute this critical migration project, we propose the hiring of three positions. Qualifications include:
  • Experience migrating from a RichFaces 3.3 environment.
  • Proficiency in Java, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Experience in UI/UX design principles, responsive design, and usability testing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
