Elder Hanson & Company, Ltd., a CPA firm located in downtown Naperville, Illinois, is seeking an experienced CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), Senior Tax Accountant, or Tax Preparer to join our team for the 2027 tax season.
We welcome tax professionals with a public accounting background and seven or more years of experience who are seeking meaningful seasonal work, enjoy preparing complex tax returns, and value the flexibility of working remotely as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns, including Forms: 1040, 1065, 1120-S, and, when applicable, 1041
  • Research tax issues and identify planning opportunities
  • Assist with consulting and tax planning projects
  • Prepare income tax basis financial statements
  • Communicate professionally with clients
  • Collaborate effectively in a remote environment
  • Utilize Lacerte, QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office, ShareFile, and OfficeTools
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Seven or more years of recent public accounting experience
  • Experience preparing individual, partnership, and S corporation tax returns
  • Strong federal and state tax knowledge
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks Online

Preferred
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent designation
  • Experience with Lacerte Tax Software
  • Experience preparing fiduciary (Form 1041) and multi-state income tax returns

Schedule & Availability
  • Seasonal opportunity during the 2027 tax season (January through April)
