About the Mission You Will Join:
Background: DAF/CIO Workforce Development Division plays a key role in organizing the cyber workforce, training and educating all Airmen to utilize the cyberspace domain to accomplish the Air Force missions. As the role of cyber continues to evolve within the Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD), continuing to build and maintain a competent and resilient workforce is necessary.
The Force Development Specialist will provide support for DAF/CIO Workforce Development Division to effectively manage the cyber workforce from accession through departure from the Air Force. Support will be related to plans, policies, procedures, tactics techniques and procedures in response to changing requirements, technology, laws, regulations and Presidential directives related to cyber workforce development and certification. In this role you will have the opportunity to:
  • Provide cyber workforce development and certification expertise and support to DAF/CIO.
  • Expertise and support includes providing recommendations regarding AF policy related to workforce development, supporting the development of policy, tracking of compliance and coding, and assisting with workforce development initiatives
  • Serve as Air Staff-level subject matter expert on cyber workforce certification and coding plans, policies, procedures, tactics, techniques and procedures specific to workforce training and certification
  • Support implementation of higher-level workforce certification and coding requirements resulting from laws, regulations or Presidential directives.
  • Assist with the development and identification of present and future workforce certification and coding requirements as well as governance and execution of the implementation and sustainment for workforce coding and certification
  • Provide workforce certification recommendations based on research, analyses, risk assessment and review of concepts, staff packages and other applicable reports
  • Provide experienced and skilled technical writing support
  • Have ability to communicate complex technical solutions related to workforce certification to all levels of AF, DoD and Joint customers and partners.
  • Provide support in the drafting and coordination of workforce certification staff packages for review and approval
  • Provide support and guidance as an Air Force subject matter expert for workforce certification at technical symposia, industry conferences, seminars, meetings, working groups and panels as directed by the Government

Preferred:
  • Have working knowledge NIST 8140
  • Understanding of Air Force structure

Travel and Telecommuting:
  • Travel: Little (less than 10%)
    Telecommute Options: Hybrid Remote. In office daily for first 90 days with the possibility of a minimum of 2 days per week in office dependent on client requirements and leadership determination
