• Conduct thorough initial assessments to determine client needs and formulate individualized treatment plans aligned with recovery goals.
• Utilize evidence-based intervention methodologies to provide direct counseling and therapy to clients, ensuring a client-centered approach tailored to their specific challenges.
• Develop and maintain a supportive therapeutic rapport with clients, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques and cognitive behavioral strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff, including physicians and nurses, to ensure a comprehensive treatment approach that addresses both physical and mental health recovery needs.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions to encourage peer support and shared experiences among clients.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary, maintaining accurate and confidential documentation of client interactions and outcomes.
• Educate clients and their families about resources and coping strategies during the detox process.

In this role, you will primarily work with clients undergoing detoxification from substances, including alcohol and opioids. You'll provide psychological support to individuals facing challenges related to addiction, trauma, and mental health issues. Your ability to empathize and communicate effectively will play a crucial role in building trust and facilitating recovery for clients from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) from an accredited institution.
• A valid LCSW license to practice independently in the state of Maryland.
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in substance use treatment or a related mental health field.
• Strong understanding of addiction treatment methodologies and recovery principles.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in the following areas will be given preference:

• Telehealth counseling and virtual therapy platforms.
• Working with diverse populations, including underrepresented communities.
• Group therapy facilitation and crisis intervention.
