As a full-time professional, you will play a pivotal role in providing specialized care to individuals impacted by trauma, including those dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. This position offers the chance to make a substantial impact on the lives of our patients through personalized therapeutic interventions.

About the Organization

At Peace and Purpose Psychotherapy Center, we are deeply committed to fostering healing through a trauma-informed lens. Our outpatient practice operates in a remote telehealth setting, allowing us to reach a diverse clientele while creating a safe and supportive atmosphere for trauma survivors. Our mission is to empower individuals on their journey toward recovery and resilience.

Work Environment

This role is designed for a remote work environment, facilitating flexible scheduling and the ability to deliver care from the comfort of your own space. Our telehealth platform allows for an effective integration of technology in our therapeutic methods, ensuring that client care is both convenient and accessible. While you may set your own schedule, you will primarily work Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional adjustments to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting trauma-informed assessments to evaluate client histories and identify tailored treatment approaches.
  • Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans that focus on facilitating trauma recovery and fostering resilience.
  • Providing evidence-based therapy, including techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions where patients can process their trauma and develop effective coping strategies.
  • Collaborating with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary professionals to enhance integrated care methodologies for clients.
  • Delivering crisis intervention and support for patients facing trauma-related emergencies.
  • Educating patients and families about trauma responses and available coping resources, promoting understanding within the family system.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records to meet legal and ethical standards.
  • Engaging in team meetings and case consultations, contributing to collective knowledge around trauma-informed care practices.
  • Staying current on trauma therapy advancements through ongoing education and research review.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your efforts will be directed toward a diverse clientele comprising individuals from various backgrounds grappling with traumatic experiences. You will provide therapeutic support tailored to their unique needs, helping them navigate the complexities of their situations and offering a pathway to healing.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
  • A solid understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
  • An ability to apply resilience-building strategies in clinical practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a warm, non-judgmental environment for clients.
  • A composed demeanor under pressure, enabling effective crisis management and patient support.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, we are particularly interested in candidates who have a strong background in delivering trauma-focused therapies and demonstrating proficiency in employing various therapeutic interventions to enhance treatment outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 to 110,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to your salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including:

  • Healthcare benefits encompassing medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • A retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions to help secure your financial future.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay to promote work-life balance.
  • Professional liability insurance to ensure peace of mind.
  • Ongoing support for continuing education and professional development.
  • Opportunities for career advancement within our trauma-informed practice framework.
  • A supportive, collaborative team environment dedicated to mutual success and growth.

We provide pathways for career growth, whether that means taking on supervisory roles, attaining additional certifications, or leading specialized programs that align with individual career goals.
