What is a remote work from home inventory management?

A Remote Work From Home Inventory Management job involves overseeing and tracking a company's inventory levels, orders, and shipments from a remote location, typically your home. Professionals in this role use online inventory management systems to monitor stock, update records, and coordinate with suppliers and other departments. The job requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with inventory software. Remote inventory managers help ensure products are available when needed while minimizing excess stock and associated costs.

How does a remote inventory management role typically coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams?

In a remote inventory management position, effective communication with on-site warehouse and logistics teams is crucial. Most professionals in this role use inventory management software and collaborative tools to monitor stock levels, process orders, and resolve discrepancies in real time. Regular video meetings, scheduled check-ins, and instant messaging platforms help ensure alignment with physical operations. Building strong relationships and clear communication channels enables remote inventory managers to quickly address any issues and maintain accurate records, despite not being physically present.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote work from home inventory management professional, and why are they important?

To excel in Remote Work From Home Inventory Management, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience with supply chain or inventory processes, often supported by a relevant degree or equivalent work experience. Proficiency in inventory management software (such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite), spreadsheets, and database systems is typically required. Effective communication, self-motivation, and problem-solving abilities are important soft skills for collaborating remotely and managing tasks independently. These skills ensure accurate inventory tracking, timely fulfillment, and efficient operations, all critical for remote inventory management success.

We work with clients across all industries, with a specialized focus in life sciences and food & beverage. Our extensive talent networks ensure our clients have access to the best executives, not just the ones close by.   We take pride in creating meaningful connections between people and fulfilling work in industry-leading organizations. We need your help to do this.     What you’ll be doing   As our new Account Manager, you will manage a portfolio of clients in the life sciences and food & beverage industries. You’ll work closely with an extensive team of recruiters and researchers, to fill executive and managerial-level jobs, while proactively seeking out new business within your existing client portfolio.     Working from home, you’ll manage the recruitment process from start to finish by:   * Coordinating with our sales team as they supply new clients to you * Conducting intake calls with clients for new search requests * Coordinating with our recruitment/delivery teams to relay client expectations and requirements * Presenting qualified candidates (received from the recruitment/delivery team) to clients * Connecting with clients to gather candidate feedback and to direct the search. * Preparing candidates for interviews, and debriefing with clients and candidates post-interview * Conducting regular check-ins with your active and non-active clients, to maintain strong relationships, and generate new job orders   This is a fast-paced, high-volume role, where you’ll enjoy a diversity of challenges every day. You will need to be flexible, resourceful, and well equipped to handle the shifting demands of the day-to-day with a detail-oriented nature and well-practiced organizational skills.   Your business acumen and exceptional communication skills will allow you to connect with business leaders, and build true partnerships with them. Our goal is to be the only recruitment firm they will ever need.       Being an account manager with us means getting to experience a work environment that’s more supportive than you’ve ever experienced before. We have powerful marketing, sales, and recruiting teams, who will support you at each end of the process, so that you can focus on delighting your clients.   Opportunities like this one don’t come around often. If this sounds like a challenge you’re up for, and the next step in your recruitment career, then we want to hear from you.     Working with Sterling Hoffman Executive Search   This is a permanent position in which you will work remotely/from home full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm (some flexibility may be required when working with clients/candidates in different time zones). No travel will be required for this position. You’ll start with 3 weeks’ vacation and benefits after 3 months.   You’ll earn a base salary of $60,000 per year, with total yearly on target earnings expected to be between $80,000 -$90,000 per year. Your variable compensation will be paid annually (based on total annual billings), and with a monthly bonus (paid on retainers from the previous month). Your earning potential is unlimited.   We’re a progressive and innovative company with the plans and means for continued growth. Although we work remotely, we’ve developed strong relationships with one another and you’ll love the level of teamwork and support you will experience here. We’re data and process driven, and always on the lookout for how we can improve our practices to continue growing.   We’re also passionate about making a greater impact, which is why we’re involved in local and international community initiatives. We partner with several non-profit organizations, and for each candidate interviewed, we make a donation on our client’s behalf.   What Makes You an Ideal Candidate   While this is a remote-working/home-office position, this opportunity is open only to Canadian residents (citizens and/or permanent residents). Here’s what else makes you a perfect fit:   * Minimum of 2+ years in the executive search/recruiting/staffing industry running a 360 desk, and/or as a corporate recruiter or talent acquisition specialist in a high-volume environment, or similar (e.g. experience working in an MSP) * Strong understanding of the recruitment industry, with experience in recruitment business development * 5+ years professional experience working in a client-facing role * History and demonstrated track record of account management and business development success   * Experience using any ATS * Experience using any CRM * Well-equipped home office, with ability to provide own computer and high-speed internet access     How to Apply Our online application gives you the chance to apply as more than just a resume. We’ll assess your qualifications, personality traits and workplace preferences, which should take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. After submitting, you'll be able to view your results.   We strive to build diverse teams that reflect the community, and encourage applications from underrepresented groups such as women, visible minorities, Indigenous peoples, people identifying as LGBTQ2SI, veterans, and people with disabilities.  If we can make this easier through accommodation in the recruitment process, please contact us using the “Help” button.   We will review applications, with priority given to those who have completed the assessment, and look forward to hearing from you.
