This position will manage the content migration and maintenance for the old and new website platform pre-, during, and post-transition. This position will be responsible for enhancing our digital presence, engaging our audience, and strengthening our brand across Johns Hopkins University by maintaining our new website. This role is ideal for someone passionate about social media, branding, content creation, and audience engagement.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Content Inventory & Mapping: Audit legacy systems to identify what content needs to be migrated, archived, or deleted. Map legacy content structure to the new information architecture and templates.
  • Migration Execution: Transfer digital assets using automated tools, scripts, or manual entry to maintain data integrity. Reconstruct page layouts to meet new design and brand specifications.
  • Quality Assurance (QA) & Validation: Audit migrated pages to ensure text, images, and attachments match the source system without content loss. Verify and update functional elements like header hierarchies, internal links, and redirects.
  • Optimization & Compliance: Optimize media assets (e.g., proper scaling, descriptive alt-text) and ensure the new pages meet the latest accessibility and web performance standards. Implement technical SEO best practices, including canonicalization and semantic structure.
  • Oversee day-to-day management of website content: Review and "clean" content to ensure consistency in messaging, branding, and accessibility, and provide guidance in the application of university guidelines.
  • Web Design and Content Management: Assist the Associate Director for Communications with the development and strategic plans related to website visual design, usability, and multimedia aspects.

About Johns Hopkins University

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

Gilman believed that teaching and research go hand in hand—that success in one depends on success in the other—and that a modern university must do both well. He also believed that sharing our knowledge and discoveries would help make the world a better place. In 145 years, we haven’t strayed from that vision. This is still a destination for excellent, ambitious scholars and a world leader in teaching and research. Distinguished professors mentor students in the arts and music, humanities, social and natural sciences, engineering, international studies, education, business, and the health professions. Those same faculty members, along with their colleagues at the university’s Applied Physics Laboratory, have made us the nation’s leader in federal research and development funding every year since 1979. That’s a fitting distinction for America’s first research university, a place that has revolutionized higher education in the U.S. and continues to bring knowledge and discoveries to the world.
